Fund Raiser

On December 19th a local Tacoma family - personal friends of ours - rushed their 5 year old daughter, Scarlet, to the emergency room at Mary Bridge Hospital -just two days earlier the entire family came down sick with what looked like the common cold - she passed away hours later.  She had bacterial pneumonia, which develops very quickly, with no distinguishable symptoms.  Ten days later more test results came in, she also had the flu - H3N2- the first case in our area, and this strain is not protected by the current flu shot.  Not only are they dealing with their grief but also funeral expenses, hospital bills and now the loss of a job!
We have chosen several items in our shop to label with #teamscarlet, when those items are purchased we will donate 50% of the funds to the family.
RIP Scarlet

Smokey Cajun Spice Blend

Smokey Cajun Spice Blend

  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1 tablespoon hot red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tablespoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle powder
You can simply mix these together and store in an airtight jar or if you prefer, blend them in a blender until fine.  If this is too spicy, omit the chipotle powder and only add 1 teaspoon of the hot red pepper flakes.

This spice is great for fish, poultry, vegetables or mixed into a dipping sauce!
